We offer a full range of home care services with quality professional nurses coordinating your care.

Our Nursing Services include:

  • Medication administration and assessment
  • Comprehensive physical/socio-economic assessments

Our Therapy Services include:

  • Physical Therapy: develops home exercise programs, evaluates home safety, and assists with rehabilitation following surgery, injury, or illness.
  • Occupational Therapy: assists clients to remain safely in their own home by evaluating a client's ability to care for themselves, assisting with therapeutic exercises to perform activities of daily living, and arranging the coordination of home modifications, equipment and supplies.
  • Speech therapy: assists clients with speech and swallowing difficulties.

Our Medical Social Workers provide:

  • Assistance with accessing community resources
  • Counseling
  • Assessing emotional factors relating to your illness or medical condition

Our Home Care Aides provide:

  • Assistance and support with personal care
  • Daily home management activities
  • Meal preparation
  • Essential laundry
  • Compassionate care in the comfort and safety of your own home

Home Care Payment Options

Home Care services may be paid through Medicare, Medicaid or private insurances. Our dedicated team will assist you in determining what services are covered by your health plan. We offer a sliding fee scale based on income and financial resources.

True to our long tradition of serving others no client in need of home care services will be turned away due to their inability to pay.  VNS of Iowa covers the cost of some nursing services through available grant funding from the United Way of Central Iowa. 

Service Area

VNS of Iowa Home Care is currently serving clients in Polk County and the surrounding counties of Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Story and Warren.  Home Care services are currently available for clients living within a 40 mile radius of Des Moines. 

                     

Refer a Patient

Referrals for Home Care may be made by your physician, hospital, community agency, family, relative, or friend. Our caring staff is available 24 hours a day and will answer all your questions regarding Home Care services by calling us at 515-558-9591.

Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa Home Care is CHAP Accredited and Medicare Certified.
